I would like to share about Isabella Godinez; a remarkable volunteer we have the pleasure of working with. 

What first impressed me was when we had a situation where a 10 year-old boy continued to be very upset and disruptive. He tried several times to leave our event unattended. I was alerted by security, and on my way to address the situation, Isabella already had the boy lying on a blanket, playing with a small toy, and completely relaxed. I spent some time with them, and Isabella's poise and ability to seemingly do exactly the right thing to help this boy was what you would hope to expect from a senior counselor with years of experience. Isabella is a natural. Our director was so impressed with Isabella, she asked her to be our keynote speaker at the next event. Isabella’s talk on resilience was incredibly insightful and captivating for an audience of both young and older attendees. Isabella had each person in the audience share something we like about ourselves to another audience member we didn't know. She stated that resilience comes from inside ourselves and we need to start by liking ourselves. I remember being personally challenged by this.
